Made in Perth is run as a charity – all information is freely given, please give credit where due. The website is run by and was founded by Dr Paul S Philippou, Honorary Research Fellow in History at the University of Dundee. The vast bulk of the research was undertaken by Dr Philippou with additional research [First and Second World Wars, Suffragettes] by Ken Bruce.
Former Metropolitan Police officer, Sergeant Alistair Stuart McLaren RAFVR (1891777) was the youngest son of the late John and Margaret McLaren, 14 Robertson’s Buildings, Dunkeld Road, Perth.
McLaren was an air gunner on board Avro Lancaster ND762 on 22 May 1944 piloted by another Perth resident, Ernie ‘Sherl-E’ Holmes DFC.
