Perth Silver Band


Perth Silver Band was formed in 1861, /previously known as: Perth Masonic Band and Perth Trades Silver Band.

Bottom row, on the far right is my uncle, Ronnie Spiers, next to him my father, James (Jimmy) Bruce (died 1964). Behind the bandmaster on the left is my uncle, Roddy Campbell (my mother’s brother). At the very back on the drum is my Grandpa Spiers.

The plaque on the back wall says: This memorial tablet has been erected by the members of the city of Perth Cooperative Society limited as a tribute of respect to the memory of David Glass their first manager who faithfully served the society for 30 years and rendered invaluable service to the cooperative movement during the course of a busy life Born 2 August 1844 Died 25 October 1901
